During the summer holidays, from late June to late August, there is a fair set up in the Tuileries garden in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France, called Fête des Tuileries. Located near the Louvre, there are around sixty rides and attractions, such as bumper cars, claw machines, a ferris wheel, merry-go-round and a log flume. There are delicious snacks and sweet treats set up throughout the fair, with enough options to suit your every need! To get into the fair is free, while rides and attractions will cost some money - it is fairly inexpensive; even on a small budget it is possible to make the most out of your experience.
While at the Tuileries garden fair, we went on a few rides. The air swings cost 7 euro per person, and most other rides we went on were 5 euro per person! You do not have to buy tickets - every ride we were on accepted both cash and card payments, so the choice is yours. The ferris wheel, which cost 10 euro per adult and 5 euro per child, was definitely my favorite. The views were absolutely breathtaking! From the top, you are able to see the seine river, Eiffel tower, the Louvre and Tuileries garden, and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. It genuinely feels as if you can see all of Paris.
After craving sweets, we stopped by one of the many ice cream stands to grab a cone. I got a pistachio and caramel swirl, and my boyfriend got a nutella and banana swirl - it was the best I have had! We took our sweet treats and went for a walk in the gardens, enjoying the beautiful sights, flowery smells and ancient statues.
The Tuileries garden fair is open from 11am until midnight. We stayed until 10:30pm to see the wonderful lights at night! There is an entrance to the metro right next to the entrances to the fair - so it is very easy to get back home, no matter where you are staying within the city! This is the perfect place to come with kids and family or just with friends, as it is definitely enjoyable for everyone!
